MAPS DUE

Friday, February 23rd, by 5:00 P.M.


Entries must be submitted to:
     County Surveyor's Office
     County Government Center
     360 Fair Lane - Building B
     Placerville, CA 95667


DISPLAY OF MAPS

All maps entered will be on display at the County Government Center Bldg. A and B from February 26 to March 9, 2018. All winning maps will be on display in the Board of Supervisors Chambers prior to the awards ceremony.  First place maps will also be displayed at the 2018 El Dorado County Fair in June.

JUDGING OF MAPS

Judging of the maps will be conducted on March 10-11, 2018.  Winners will be notified by phone as soon as possible.

AWARD CEREMONY

Prizes and ribbons will be presented by the members of the Board of Supervisors during their regularly scheduled meeting at 9:00 a.m. (Tentative: April 10, 2018)

MAP PICK UP

1st place maps can be picked up after the El Dorado County Fair (June 18th, 2018). 2nd & 3rd place maps may be picked up the day after the awards Ceremony. All other maps may be picked up at your convenience after March 12th, 2018. Maps will be available to pick up at the County Surveyor's Office, Monday - Friday (8am - 5pm). JUDGING

There will be several judges with many different perspectives, including teachers, engineers, artists, and others. Maps will be judged on the basis of accuracy, neatness, detail, use of color and/or graphics, artistic quality and imagination. Use of theme is very desirable.

PRIZES

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be selected for each grade - Kindergarten through 12th and Open. 

Kindergarten through 12th: Prizes and ribbons will be awarded to all honorable mention, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place maps.

Along with ribbons, each winner in grades K-12 and Open will receive gift cards in the amounts of:

     $75.00 1st Place
     $50.00 2nd Place
     $25.00 3rd Place

OPEN CATEGORY

Only 3 winners will be selected from Grades K-12. In addition to the ribbons and gift card prizes listed above, the 1st place winner in this category will have their name added to a prestigious perpetual trophy kept on display in the County Surveyor's office.
